Music to My Ears

One of the things I look forward to each week is the release of new music on iTunes each week. The thing I like most about the new music is that iTunes gives away free music each week to try out. Sometimes the free songs are good...sometimes they are not...but hey, it's free. I've gotten some pretty sweet music. And I recently got an iTunes gift card, which means I have been able to buy some of those songs I have had on my wish list. Sick.
Here are some of my favorite songs right now:

What I Know - Parachute (Free Download)
You Are A Tourist - Death Cab For Cutie
Paradise - Coldplay
What You Know - Two Door Cinema Club
L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N. - Noah and the Whale
Sunset in July - 311
Why Does It Always Rain On Me? - Travis
Raindrops on the Kitchen Floor - Mason Jennings
Hurtful - Erik Hassle
Lights - Ellie Goulding
Transistor - Atto and the Majestics (Spanish Free Download)
You Make Me Feel - Cobra Starship

Those are just of few of the songs I loo forward to blasting on my way home from school every day.

School School School

So I figured out I am not too good at this whole “blog” thing. Writing once a month is sufficient, right? And I am not a big picture-taker...

Officially, I have been in school for 3 weeks. We had our first test on Wednesday, and it wasn’t my favorite thing in the whole world. It was long, and slightly retarded, but I got through it. I don’t know what I got on it, so I guess I’ll leave that for another post…next month. All in all, school is great. Right now I feel like it is just intense science classes, but we have started to learn some stuff that I will actually use later on.

I guess one of the upsides to living in a big city and not knowing many people is that I can fill my time with whatever I want. Most of my free time, I spend studying. There is always something to study, especially because you never want to get behind. If I got behind, I would be in serious trouble. But of course I don’t spend every waking moment studying…I bought a pull-up bar to do pull-ups (I don’t know what else you would do with a pull-up bar), do push-ups, go running, eat healthy meals. I played racquetball the other day with some buddies, which was fun. What I really want to do is get a key to the church so I can play bball in there every day. And the next thing I want to do is find someone with a boat. That would make Saturdays ten thousand times better.

So the life of this single man isn’t too exciting at the moment, but I still manage to have fun.

Deep In the Heart of Texas

Since it is Sunday, I posted a churchy song. It's from this year's EFY CD. The combination of the girl's voice and the piano melt my soul...what more can I say.

Anyway... I am in Texas...deep in the heart of it. It was a crazy journey, but I am here. This blog is intended to help my friends and family keep track of me. Hopefully I don't get too buried under the powerpoints, books, and medical instruments that will consume my life for the next 4 years.

This picture was taken on my mission... Little did I know it was a sign of things to come.

Jimmer Time. We had orientation all week so they could try to prepare us for what is to come. For one of the days we were supposed to wear a shirt from our alma mater. I chose to wear my Jimmer jersey. Sadly, no one except the other BYU guys commented on it. I guess my class is full of kids that live under a rock. In this pic I am going for a Jimmer glare.

It was exactly 5 billion degrees outside when I got this picture taken. We got our white coats at a ceremony as a kickoff to the new school year and the beginning of our future. They aren't the official doctor coats... We get those when we graduate.

Texas isn't going to be too bad. This is definitely the biggest city I have ever lived in, so it is going to take a while to get used to. Here goes.
